BEIRUT (Palestine Foundation Information Center) Two people were killed on Sunday evening in an Israeli airstrike targeting a house in the village of Aynata in southern Lebanon, according to Lebanon’s public health emergency operations center.
The Israeli attack came after a bullet from southern Lebanon hit an Israeli car in the illegal settlement of Avivim.
A Lebanese security source said an Israeli warplane fired two air-to-ground missiles at the house, leading to casualties and destroying the house. Civil defense teams were working to clear the rubble, the source added.
The unnamed source pointed out that in a separate attack, Israeli helicopters fired three missiles at prefabricated homes in the village of Kafr Kila in southeastern Lebanon, utterly destroying them.
According to the source, residents set up these mobile homes about two weeks ago as temporary shelters while rebuilding their damaged houses. No casualties were reported.
Meanwhile, Lebanon’s official National News Agency (NNA) reported that an Israeli drone dropped a stun grenade in the afternoon near a civilian inspecting his home in Ramiyah village.
Earlier, one citizen was martyred when an Israeli drone bombed a car in Mais al-Jabal town, south of Lebanon.
On Sunday, the Israeli occupation army claimed a gunshot from Lebanese territory hit a vehicle in the northern Jewish settlement of Avivim.
Israel’s Kan TV News reported that the gunfire was likely errant shots fired during a funeral in southern Lebanon.
Following the incident, Israeli war minister Israel Katz instructed the military to strike targets in the area of Aynata in southern Lebanon on Sunday.
