RAMALLAH (Palestine Foundation Information Center) Two citizens were shot and injured on Monday during clashes with Israeli occupation forces (IOF) in Ramallah, while Israeli military checkpoints were set up in Salfit.
Local sources reported that clashes erupted after the IOF stormed the village of Deir Abu Mash’al, north of Ramallah, where Israeli troops fired tear gas canisters and live bullets at the residents, leading to the injury of two young men with live bullets in the foot.
At dawn hours, the IOF raided a number of homes in the village and arrested eight citizens from the Zahran and Al-Hindi families in addition to about 30 other people who were rounded up and subjected to field investigation before being released.
Meanwhile, the IOF set up military checkpoints at the entrances of some villages and towns in Salfit governorate including the city of Salfit and the towns of Deir Ballut and Qarawet Bani Hassan, according to local sources.
The IOF closed the iron gate at the entrance of the town of Broqin, west of Salfit, and searched citizens’ vehicles and checked their identities, the sources added.
