Two Palestinian young men were martyred after they carried out a resistance operation that killed one Jewish settler and injured three others on Tuesday afternoon near the illegal settlement of Gush Etzion in the occupied West Bank.
According to the Hebrew media, the young men accelerated their vehicle into people at the Gush Etzion junction, before one of them got out and stabbed some settlers.
Both resistance fighters were shot dead by Israeli forces at the scene, the Israeli occupation army reported.
The martyrs were identified by Palestinian officials as Imran al-Attrash, and Walid Sabarneh, both 18 years old from al-Khalil province.
The Israeli army claimed that a number of explosive devices were found in the vehicle and disarmed.
One of the settlers, who sustained serious wounds, was mistakenly hit by the Israeli soldiers’ gunfire, the Hebrew media said.
Immediately after the incident, Israeli forces stormed nearby Palestinian areas, reportedly closing roads, raiding homes, and kidnaping and assaulting Palestinian citizens.
Since Israel launched its genocidal war on the Gaza Strip in October 2023, army-backed settler attacks have escalated across the occupied West Bank, including east Jerusalem, prompting retaliatory resistance attacks.
