GAZA (Palestine Foundation Information Center) The Palestinian Red Crescent Society (PRCS) revealed that two members of its crews were injured by Israeli gunfire while being forcibly evacuated from Al-Amal Hospital in Khan Yunis, south of the Gaza Strip.
The Red Crescent said in a statement on Monday that Israeli occupation forces (IOF) on Sunday obliged the medical staff and the wounded at Al-Amal Hospital to leave, and while leaving, the IOF opened fire at them, leading to the injury of two crew members.
The PRCS explained that the crews who left through the military checkpoint were surprised by the difficulty of movement in the place due to extensive bulldozing operations and the destruction of infrastructure, adding that while trying to remove the rubble and obstacles on the road the IOF opened fire on two of the crews injuring them on the spot.
After coordination had been made to evacuate the wounded members, the crews managed to recover one of them, while the fate of the second member, remained uncertain until this moment.
The Red Crescent added that the IOF, later on the day, forced the crews to return to Al-Amal Hospital, to be surprised by the closure of the hospital’s gate where they had been waiting in the street until the moment of writing this news.
The PRCS said it has been coordinating with partners to provide a safe humanitarian corridor to evacuate the wounded and crews.
