GAZA,(The Palestine Information Centre)The UN Secretary-General António Guterres condemned the attack on an UNRWA school in Al-Maghazi refugee camp in Gaza on Tuesday, which killed at least six people, the statement said on Wednesday.
“The Secretary-General extends his sincere condolences to the families of the victims and wishes a swift recovery to those injured,” the statement said.
Guterres emphasized that hospitals, clinics, medical personnel, and UN premises are protected under international law, according to a statement from UN spokesperson Stephane Dujarric.
Earlier Tuesday, a hospital in the center of Gaza City was struck in an Israeli aerial raid with initial estimates indicating that at least 500 people have been killed, and numbers are expected to increase. Many of the wounded are reported to be women and children sheltering from the air raids.
At least six people were also killed this afternoon when a UNRWA school was hit in al-Maghazi refugee camp, in central Gaza.
