OCCUPIED JERUSALEM, (The Palestine Foundation Pakistan)
The Israeli occupation authority (IOA) forced two Palestinian citizens on Tuesday to demolish a home and an animal shelter in the east Jerusalem districts of Issawiya and Silwan under the pretext of unlicensed construction.
According to local sources, Musa Badran, a resident of al-Bustan in Silwan, had to demolish his own home under duress in order to avoid paying heavy fines and other expenses to the Israeli municipality in Occupied Jerusalem.
The Israeli measure displaced Badran who had lived in the house with his wife and kid.
Meanwhile, the Israeli municipality forced the Darbas family in Issawiya to demolish a livestock shelter, which served as a vital source of livelihood for it.
Hundreds of Jerusalemite homes and structures are threatened with demolition or appropriation as part of Israel’s Judaization plans in the occupied holy city.
The Jerusalemites have no choice but to build without licenses because there are no structural maps that respond to the natural increase in their numbers.
The IOA also imposes building restrictions on the Palestinian natives in east Jerusalem and makes it hard for them to obtain construction licenses.
Israel’s systematic demolition of Palestinian homes in the holy city is believed to be aimed at psychologically destroying the Jerusalemite families in an attempt to force them to move from the city.
