GAZA, (Palestine Foundation Information Center) The United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) has said that Israel is deliberately starving civilians in the Gaza Strip, including one million children, many of whom suffer from malnutrition and face the risk of death.
In a post on the platform X on Sunday, UNRWA explained that it has sufficient food supplies for all residents of Gaza for more than three months, stored in warehouses on the Egyptian side of the Rafah border crossing.
UNRWA called for the lifting of the siege on Gaza and for permission to deliver food and medicine, saying, “Lift the blockade: Allow UNRWA to bring in food and medicine.”
It asked Israel to “lift the blockade, allow UNRWA to do its work and assist those in need, including one million children.”
The number of children who have died from malnutrition in Gaza has risen to 70, according to the Government Media Office in the Gaza Strip.
On Saturday, UNRWA confirmed again that it has enough food supplies for all residents of Gaza for over three months, but Israel does not permit their entry.
It clarified that these supplies, including those stored in a warehouse in the Egyptian city of Arish, are ready for distribution, noting that logistical systems are in place.
Two million people in Gaza are experiencing a humanitarian crisis on all levels, as Israel has closed the border crossings since March 2, 2025, preventing the entry of food and medical aid, leading to the outbreak of famine across the enclave.
