UNRWA: Northern West Bank witnesses largest displacement wave since 1967

WEST BANK (Palestine Foundation Information Center) The United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) has warned that the situation in the northern West Bank remains “extremely concerning” due to the ongoing Israeli assault, which has resulted in the largest wave of displacement since the 1967 war.

In a statement, UNRWA reported that the Israeli offensive has led to systematic destruction, forced displacement, and demolition orders affecting Palestinian families and refugee camps.

The UN agency noted that it continues to work with its partners to provide urgent humanitarian assistance, including psychosocial support for displaced families. It has also adapted its core services by deploying mobile health clinics and offering online learning resources.

Since 21 January, the Israeli military has intensified its operations in cities and refugee camps across the northern West Bank, particularly in the governorates of Jenin, Tulkarem, Tubas, and Nablus. The assault has resulted in the killing and injury of dozens of civilians — including women and children — the forced displacement of over 40,000 people, and the destruction of hundreds of homes and critical infrastructure.
