GAZA (Palestine Foundation Information Center) Around 1,000,000 people have fled the Gazan city of Rafah in the past three weeks, UNRWA said on Tuesday.
Rafah had been sheltering more than a million Palestinians, who already fled Israeli attacks on other parts of the coastal enclave.
In X remarks, UNRWA said the people’s flight from Rafah “happened with nowhere safe to go and amidst bombardments, lack of food and water, piles of waste, and unsuitable living conditions” with assistance and protection now becoming nearly “impossible.”
Meanwhile, the Israeli occupation army expanded its incursion into Rafah early Tuesday, advancing within three kilometers of the beach, as part of its plan to geographically isolate the Gaza Strip from Egypt.
