GAZA, (Palestine Foundation Information Center), The United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) said on Thursday that Israel has continued to block the entry of its humanitarian aid into Gaza since March 2025, leaving life-saving supplies stranded in neighboring countries.
In a statement posted on X, the agency said shipments of food, medical supplies, hygiene kits, and shelter materials remain stuck in warehouses in Egypt and Jordan, despite being ready for immediate delivery to the besieged enclave.
The agency said “UNRWA humanitarian supplies are ready to move. There is no time to waste,” stressing that its teams on the ground have continued providing essential services under extremely limited conditions. “We must be allowed to do more,” it added.
At the end of 2024, Israeli authorities banned UNRWA’s operations in occupied Jerusalem and imposed increasing restrictions on the agency, accusing it of links to Hamas, allegations that UNRWA and the United Nations have repeatedly denied.
Palestinians continue to face catastrophic humanitarian conditions following two years of Israeli genocide in Gaza, alongside ongoing military aggression in the occupied West Bank.
In a previous report, UNRWA documented a sharp escalation in Israeli military activity near what is referred to as the “yellow line,” an undefined boundary that has severely restricted or entirely blocked access to humanitarian facilities, public infrastructure, and agricultural land.
The agency said several of its facilities were damaged during Israeli military operations in Khan Yunis and Gaza City.
Despite a ceasefire agreement in place since October 10, 2025, Israeli occupation forces have failed to allow the agreed quantities of humanitarian aid into Gaza, where around 2.4 million Palestinians, including 1.5 million internally displaced people, are living in dire conditions.
UNRWA warned that continued obstruction of aid risks further loss of life and deepens the humanitarian catastrophe in the enclave.
