GAZA, (The Palestinian Information Center) The European Parliament approved a resolution addressing the catastrophic humanitarian situation in the Gaza Strip, expressing deep concern over the spread of famine and the severe shortage of food, water, and medicine.
The resolution called on Israel to fully and safely open all crossings to allow humanitarian aid and to ensure the protection of civilians, medical personnel, and aid workers.
It also emphasized the urgent need for an immediate and lasting ceasefire, alongside the resumption of funding for the United Nations Relief and Works Agency (UNRWA), describing the agency as a lifeline for millions of Palestinians.
The Parliament’s resolution stressed that Gaza is on the brink of total collapse and underscored that the European Union has a critical role to play, both in confronting the famine and in advancing the political process toward a two-state solution, which it described as the only viable path to resolving the Palestinian issue.
