Visual Exhibition “ Return is Near” for Palestine Solidarity Inaugurated in Islamabad Art Gallery

Islamabad  (Palestine Foundation Information Center)  A three-day design for Palestine workshop concluded with the inauguration of a visual exhibition dedicated to expressing solidarity with Palestine at the Islamabad Art Gallery, located in F-9 Fatima Jinnah Park.

The Palestine Foundation Pakistan (PLF) organized in collaboration with Islamabad Art Gallery and various civil society institutions, the exhibition showcases artworks created by Pakistani students, centered around the theme of “ Return is Near,” highlighting the right of return of Palestinian refugees under UN Resolution 194.

The inauguration ceremony was attended by renowned artist Jamal Shah, Palestinian Deputy Ambassador NaderAl-Turk, Dr. Sabir Abu Maryam, along with various dignitaries including Allama Ahmed Iqbal, Liaqat Baloch, Mufti Gulzar Naeemi, Nasir Shirazi, Dr. Abdul Basit, Nasrullah Rindawa, Abdul Hameed Loun, Manzoor Shah, Amna Shah, Anwar Ali, and Wajid Ali, in attendance were dignitaries from various fields, such as academia, politics, and civil society.

It is noteworthy that the three-day design for Palestine workshop, titled “The Return in Near,” commenced on Friday, April 26, and continued with the opening of the visual exhibition on Sunday, April 28.

Multiple students from universities participated in the workshop, raising awareness about the plight of Palestine and highlighting the injustices of the Zionist regime.

Addressing the inaugural ceremony, the organizers emphasized that art is a powerful means to highlight the issue of Palestine. They reiterated that Palestine belongs to the Palestinians, and Israel is an illegitimate state, echoing the vision of Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah and the ideology of Pakistan. They called for serious international efforts to end the genocide in Palestine. At the occasion, support was expressed for ongoing protests in American universities in solidarity with Palestine, and the workshop participants were honored with commemorative shields and certificates.

During his remarks, the Deputy Ambassador of Palestine emphasized the significance of such initiatives, which demonstrate the unwavering support and solidarity of the Pakistani people with their Palestinian counterparts. He commended the efforts of Palestine Foundation Pakistan in portraying the shared struggles of Palestinians under Israeli occupation and their aspirations for freedom, independence, and the establishment of the independent state of Palestine, with Jerusalem as its capital.

The Deputy Ambassador highlighted the global significance of the Palestinian cause, noting the solidarity expressed by students in universities across the United States of America and other Western countries. He underscored the universal principles of justice, freedom, and democracy, calling for an end to the ongoing violations of human rights and international law perpetrated against the Palestinian people.

Renowned artist Jamal Shah, reiterated Pakistan’s unwavering support for Palestine during his recent remarks at “Return is Near” Exhibition. In a stirring address, He expressed his solidarity with the Palestinian people and their struggle for freedom and justice. Moreover, Shah commended the artistic works of students who have lent their talents in support of Palestine. He emphasized the importance of artistic expression in raising awareness and fostering empathy for the plight of the Palestinian people.

The exhibition not only serves as a platform for artistic expression but also as a testament to the enduring legacy of Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah, whose vision and principles continue to inspire support for Palestine among the people of Pakistan.
