OCCUPIED JERUSALEM, (The Palestine Information Centre)The Islamic Religious Endowments Authority in Occupied Jerusalem, also called the Waqf, strongly condemned the Jewish settlers’ attack on the Bab al-Rahma cemetery, east of the Aqsa Mosque, on Sunday morning.
In a statement issued Monday, the Endowments Authority confirmed that the attack on Bab al-Rahma cemetery was carried out under the protection of the Israeli police.
“This reflects the Israeli hostile nature against a cemetery that represents Islamic history and civilization in the vicinity of the Aqsa Mosque.”
The Authority also denounced the tightening of police and military measures inside and around the Aqsa Mosque, including the escalated settler incursions “that violated all religious and legal taboos.”
The Authority further called for an end to all Israeli violations of the Aqsa Mosque, including the military presence at its gates and inside its squares.
It warned that the Israeli measures “deprive thousands of worshipers of exercising their natural right to perform their religious rituals and prayers at Aqsa.”
