DOHA, (The Palestinian Information Center) Senior Hamas official Ezzat al-Resheq has accused Israeli premier Benjamin Netanyahu of seeking an endless war, calling him “the real obstacle to ceasefire and prisoner exchange proposals over the Gaza Strip.”
Resheq made the remarks on Thursday in response to US president Donald Trump’s call for Hamas to immediately release all the Israeli captives in Gaza.
“We tell US president Trump that Hamas agreed on August 18 to the mediators’ proposed deal. This deal is basically based on Witkoff’s proposal,” Resheq said on Hamas’s Telegram channel.
“However, Netanyahu has not responded to the proposal until now. We have also expressed readiness for a comprehensive deal through which all the Israeli captives would be released in exchange for an agreed upon number of Palestinian prisoners.”
The Hamas official emphasized that the deal must also result in a ceasefire and the complete withdrawal of Israeli forces from Gaza.
