What Is Israel’s Worst Nightmare?

The illegitimate Zionist state of Israel, established in 1948 on occupied Palestinian land, has always lived under the shadow of a terrifying nightmare. This nightmare has multiple reasons, many of which have been openly acknowledged by Zionist analysts, researchers, and even political leaders. Before examining these causes in detail, it is essential to recall that Israel was established through the forceful seizure of other people’s homeland, expelling the native inhabitants and declaring a state on stolen land. This foundational injustice itself continues to haunt Israel, reminding it that a building constructed on false foundations must one day collapse.

Thus, the most frightening nightmare for the Zionist state of Israel is the inevitability that one day it may cease to exist.

This nightmare has intensified dramatically in recent times, especially after the events of October 7.

Today every Zionist settler and more importantly, even the Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is trapped in an unending state of anxiety and dread. Israel and its officials constantly face an existential question: Will Israel survive? Will its leadership survive? Will the state exist in the next hundred years, twenty years, or even five years? This is the nightmare that has begun to consume Netanyahu from within.

Israel is often described as “developed,” but in what sense? Its advanced weaponry is imported entirely from the United States and Western powers. In reality, Israel resembles a massive military garrison, an outpost designed and sustained by Western powers in the region. This is why genuine development within Israel is superficial. Real development means that citizens feel welcomed, accepted, and secure in the place they live. Yet, every Zionist settler goes to sleep with the fear that Israel may collapse at any time. Their lives are increasingly defined by anxiety and uncertainty، a nation living inside a nightmare.

The Zionist entity came into existence in 1948, but from the beginning it emerged in an environment that Israeli scholars themselves describe as one of “perpetual insecurity.” This insecurity is not limited to external threats. It also stems from internal political chaos, demographic shifts, religious divisions, global diplomatic isolation, and deep historical tensions. As a result, the fear of collapse or crisis has repeatedly resurfaced within Israel’s society and leadership, leading to the realization that this artificial state could face a severe breakdown at any moment.

This nightmare is rooted in multiple factors،many of which were created by Zionist leaders themselves. For decades, Israel’s early leadership promoted a narrative of perpetual threat to justify state survival. This narrative was amplified by the military, media, and educational institutions. Ironically, this manufactured narrative has now turned into a real and unavoidable reality.

Another reason for Israel’s nightmare is its extremely small geographical size. With a dense population and limited strategic depth, the entire country becomes a battlefield in any major war. Israeli experts often describe their state as “a bottle with a narrow neck” fragile and easily shattered. The recent war has demonstrated this reality clearly.

As a result of being a forcefully imposed entity, Israel has troubled relations with its neighbors. Although peace agreements exist, the unresolved Palestinian question, tensions with Lebanon and Syria, confrontation with Iran, and widespread Arab popular opposition all contribute to Israel’s growing fear that if conditions deteriorate, its survival may become impossible. Thus, the nightmare of Israel’s eventual disappearance intensifies with each passing day.

The Al-Aqsa Flood (Operation Al-Aqsa Storm) of 7 October 2023 fundamentally shook Israel’s strategic mindset. The operation shattered Israel’s sense of invincibility. Israel believed that its advanced defense systems, intelligence networks, and alliance with global superpowers made it untouchable. Yet the events proved that Israel had become weaker than a spider’s web. The operation destroyed the myth of Israeli superiority and exposed the deep vulnerabilities of the Zionist project.

Israel’s growing international isolation has further fueled its nightmare. Massive protests across Europe, shifting opinions among American youth, criticism at the United Nations, and legal cases at international courts have significantly weakened Israel’s diplomatic standing. Economic stress caused by continuous wars, migration, declining investment, and social unrest has further damaged the state. In addition, the increasing number of Zionist settlers fleeing to Cyprus and other countries reinforces the belief that the Zionist project is destined for eventual collapse.

The world is shifting from a unipolar to a multipolar order. This global transformation is yet another nightmare for Israel. With the declining influence of the United States and the rising power of China, Russia, Iran, and other emerging states, Israel faces mounting geopolitical challenges. Furthermore, the growing unity and capability of Palestinian resistance across Gaza, Lebanon, Syria, Iraq, and Yemen has intensified Israel’s existential fears.

In conclusion, when all these factors are taken into account, it becomes clear that the fear haunting Israel, its nightmare of eventual collapse is both real and ideological.

Israeli scholars themselves repeatedly warn that if these issues remain unresolved, the state will weaken in the future. This nightmare of insecurity will continue to disturb the heart and mind of the Zionist entity forever.

And this, ultimately, is the success of the Palestinian people, their resistance, and all those who stand with them.
