A Palestinian young man was shot and injured by Israeli forces on Monday evening in the town of Al-Ram, north of Occupied Jerusalem, in the latest episode of ongoing attacks targeting Palestinian workers near the Israeli separation wall.
The Palestinian Red Crescent Society reported that its medical teams treated a 30-year-old man who was shot in the leg with live ammunition. He was then transferred to the hospital.
According to local sources, Israeli forces chased a group of workers attempting to cross near the wall and opened fire on them, resulting in the injury of one of them.
Statistics show a continued rise in Israeli violations against Palestinian workers. Since the beginning of the year, 15 workers have been killed, either by direct gunfire, during chases, or from falls while attempting to cross the separation wall.
The figures have also documented the arrest of hundreds of workers in recent months, many of whom were subjected to abuse by Israeli police under the pretext of not having work permits.
Since October 2023, the General Union of Palestinian Workers has recorded the deaths of 42 workers and over 32,000 arrests among laborers, an unprecedented escalation in systematic violations and targeting of Palestinian workers.
