Karachi (The Palestine Information Centre) A Palestinian delegation that came to Pakistan on the invitation of Palestine Foundation Pakistan (PLF) attended a ceremony of ulema and religious scholars of different schools of thought in Karachi.
A ceremony was held by the President of Majlis Wahdat Muslimeen Pakistan Sindh Allama Baqer Zaidi.
The Palestinian delegation was led by the former Palestinian Minister of Sports and Youth and leader of Islamic Jihad of Palestine Syed Al Barakah, while he was accompanied by the President of the Majlis Ulama of Palestine, Sheikh Adeeb Yasir Ji, the President of the Global Campaign to Return to Palestine, Sheikh Yusuf Abbas, the Secretary General of the Palestine Foundation Pakistan, Dr. Sabir Abu Maryam.
Scholars and dignitaries including Allama Baqir Zaidi, Maulana Razi Haider, Allama Mukhtar Imami, Maulana Sadiq Taqvi, Mufti Dawood Shehryar, Mufti Ferozuddin Rahmani, Mufti Murtaza Rahmani, Sahibzada Muaz Nizami, Sahibzada Hussain Rahmani, Hindu Mukhiya Alam Chand, Sikhs Leader Maghan Singh, Jamshed Hussain of human rights along with Sheikh Salim, Maulana Nishan Haider and others were present. Maulana Hayat Abbas Najafi performed the translation duties in the ceremony.
Speaking at the ceremony, the participants of the Palestinian delegation said that the unity of the Muslim Ummah is the key to the end of the oppressive Zionist state of Israel. They said that today the Zionist regime of Israel is afraid of our unity. They further said that the issue of Palestine is above the governments, it is a human problem and the people of the world are with Palestine.
The leaders said that there is a continuous struggle in Palestine and the recent battle in Jenin has proved that the Palestinian resistance is getting stronger day by day. They paid tribute to the great love and devotion of the people of Pakistan towards Palestine. They further said that Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah and Allama Iqbal are great leaders who adopted the principled stand of supporting the cause of Palestine which is reflected in the Pakistani people till today.
Majlis Wahdat Muslimeen Pakistan Sindh President Allama Baqir Zaidi thanked the guests from Palestine and on this occasion the Palestinian delegation also presented a gift of Palestinian scarf to the scholars and participants.
