Sumud Flotilla: A voice of conscience for Gaza

GAZA, (The Palestinian Information Center)Palestinians in Gaza welcomed the Global Sumud Flotilla, describing it as a powerful act of solidarity aimed at breaking the years-long blockade and amplifying the global rejection of genocide.

The Gaza Tribes Union praised the “blessed convoy,” saying the homes and tents of Gaza’s families are open to the men and women of the flotilla. The union emphasized that Palestinians will receive the activists with “hearts before hands,” just as they did with previous international solidarity missions.

It stressed that the initiative carries long-awaited hope for every child and woman in Gaza, proving their voices have reached the conscience of free people worldwide.

The Follow-Up Committee of National and Islamic Forces also saluted the Freedom Flotilla, which consists of dozens of ships carrying aid and international activists representing broad sectors across Europe and beyond.

In a statement on Saturday, the committee said the convoy exposes the failure of official policies to end the Nazi-style genocide and blockade against Gaza.

The committee described the flotilla as a “voice of human conscience” that rejects war and genocide while standing with justice and truth embodied in the Palestinian cause.

It denounced ongoing US-Israeli pressure campaigns to silence international calls for justice, insisting the Palestinian people must be rescued from Israel’s machinery of killing and destruction, carried out in violation of international laws, conventions, and human values.

Palestinian factions expressed pride in the participants and gratitude to all who contribute to humanitarian efforts for Gaza, calling the convoy a historic initiative that reaffirms global solidarity with the besieged population.

The Global Sumud Flotilla has emerged as the largest civilian maritime initiative in support of Palestinians, bringing together activists from multiple nationalities. Organizers say it represents a global humanitarian outcry against international indifference to the ongoing genocide.

On Thursday, the flotilla regrouped near a small island in the Mediterranean before sailing toward international waters close to Italy’s maritime zone. Additional ships carrying tons of humanitarian relief and dozens more activists are expected to join the convoy as it continues its mission toward Gaza.
