OCCUPIED JERUSALEM, (Palestine Foundation Information Center), A total of 223 Jewish settlers stormed the Aqsa Mosque compound on Thursday morning through the Magharibeh Gate under heavy protection from Israeli police forces.
The Islamic Waqf Department in Occupied Jerusalem said the settlers conducted provocative tours through the Mosque courtyards and performed rituals in its eastern section, continuing repeated incursions into the holy site.
At the same time, Israeli police forces tightened restrictions on Palestinians seeking to enter Aqsa Mosque and confiscated their identification cards at the outer gates.
The incursion comes amid escalating Israeli measures against Aqsa Mosque and Palestinian worshipers, including restrictions on Palestinians’ access to the compound while Israeli forces provide protection for settlers during their incursions.
