4,354 Lebanese Citizens Killed in Israeli Attacks Since March

BEIRUT, (Palestine Foundation Information Center), Lebanon’s Health Ministry said on Wednesday that the death toll from the ongoing Israeli attacks on Lebanon since March 2 has risen to 4,354, with another 12,325 people wounded.

According to a ministry statement, ambulance and emergency crews continue rescue operations and efforts to recover victims from beneath the rubble as Israeli attacks continue to target towns and villages across southern Lebanon, the Bekaa Valley and Beirut’s southern suburbs.

In the latest attack, one person was killed and another wounded on Wednesday morning in an Israeli drone strike targeting the al-Ruwais neighborhood near al-Maasouma Park in the southern Lebanese city of Nabatieh, according to Lebanese media reports.

Since the beginning of March, Lebanon has witnessed a major military escalation as the Israeli occupation army has intensified its airstrikes and military operations.

The attacks have caused extensive damage to infrastructure and residential buildings while triggering large-scale displacement and placing growing pressure on the health sector and hospitals amid severe shortages of medical supplies and fuel.

Despite an agreement signed by Beirut and Tel Aviv under US mediation on June 26, Israeli attacks on Lebanese territory have continued. The Israeli offensive, which began on March 2, has killed and wounded thousands of people.

Under the terms of the agreement, Israel is to gradually withdraw from occupied Lebanese territory as the Lebanese army deploys in those areas. The agreement also calls for the disarmament of armed groups, in reference to Hezbollah.
