GAZA, (Palestine Foundation Information Center), Gaza’s public transport sector is on the verge of a complete shutdown within days, with roughly 70 percent of its bus fleet already out of service due to severe shortages of tires, lubricants, and spare parts.
This crisis comes amid widespread destruction of roads and infrastructure across Gaza.
According to Anwar Abu Ulba, head of the Gaza bus companies syndicate, the failure to bring in maintenance supplies is threatening Gaza’s remaining 30 percent of operational buses and will lead to a total transport shutdown within days.
Ulba highlighted that buses remain an indispensable lifeline for thousands of Gazans, including students, healthcare workers, and daily laborers.
He appealed to the relevant authorities and international organizations to intervene urgently and pressure for the entry of tires, lubricants, and spare parts into Gaza.
