GAZA (Palestine Foundation Information Center) The expected return of the displaced Palestinian people in Gaza to their homes in the northern governorates following the ceasefire agreement points to the failure of one of the Israeli goals of its war on the enclave namely the “forced displacement of our people,” Hamas said.
Hamas spokesman Hazem Qasem said in a terse statement on Thursday that “our people’s legendary steadfastness in Gaza and their brave resistance have foiled the Zionist scheme of the forced displacement of our people from their land.”
“Thanks to our people’s resilience and insistence on remaining on their land despite the unprecedented war of annihilation,” the Israeli war failed in one of its main goals, Qasem added.
The spokesman said, “Our people’s demands are clear and just, (they) demand the right to an independent state on their liberated land.”
