The students’ organizations and Palestine Foundations (PLF) have vowed that they would mark May 15 as Nakba Day to express solidarity with the oppressed Palestinians. They have announced special programmes and a movement in all educational institutions of Pakistan on May 15.
These decisions were made at a join meeting of Peoples Students Federation (PSF), Muslim Students Federation (MSF), Islami Jamiat Talba (IJT), Anjuman Talba-e-Islam (ATI), Pukhtoon Students Federation (Pukhtoon SF), Insaf Students Federation (ISF), General Union of Palestinian Students (GUPS) and working committee of the PLF.
Faisal Shaikh (PSF), Khalil Satti (MSF), Hafiz Bilal (IJT), Abdul Basit (ATI), Bakhawar Shah (Pukhtoon SF), Alamgir Khan and Arsalan Ghumman (ISF), Mohammad Fadal of Palestinian students’ GUPS, and Sabir Karbalai, central spokesman of PLF, spoke at the meeting at Peoples Secretariat.
They said that despite passage of 64 years neither Palestine could be liberated nor could be made a sovereign and independent state because of Arab and Muslim governments’ lack of attention and interest. They said that the governments didn’t play much-awaited due role.
They said that Pakistani students demand of the Pakistan government to remain firm on its Palestine policy and continue to support the just Palestinian cause at United Nations and other international forums.
The participants of the meeting offered fateha for the martyrs of the PPP and visited PPP’s martyrs gallery
