GAZA, (Palestine Foundation Information Center )The United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) in the occupied Palestinian territories reported that residents of Gaza City are struggling to survive amid ongoing bombardment.
In a press statement on Thursday, OCHA said that cooked meal provision in northern Gaza has dropped by 70 percent, with only eight kitchens currently operational, highlighting the worsening humanitarian situation.
The UN agency also noted that an increasing number of humanitarian organizations have been forced to suspend operations in Gaza due to security and access challenges.
“The UN and its partners continue to face physical and bureaucratic impediments, preventing them from providing lifesaving assistance at scale in the Gaza Strip.”
Since October 7, 2023, Israel has been carrying out a genocidal war on the Gaza Strip, killing, starving, displacing, and destroying, while ignoring international calls and defying orders from the International Court of Justice to stop.
The war has resulted in over 234,000 people killed or wounded, most of them women and children, with more than 9,000 missing. It has also caused the displacement of hundreds of thousands, a deadly famine, especially among children, and widespread destruction.
