DOHA, (Palestine Foundation Information Center), Senior Hamas official Husam Badran said that his Movement will participate in the Palestinian elections within a broad national coalition, affirming its readiness to work on forming a bloc that includes a wide spectrum of national figures.
“Hamas has launched a series of meetings and contacts with various Palestinian factions and figures over the past month, aiming to build the largest possible national electoral bloc based on a consensual political program,” Badran told Al-Aqsa satellite channel on Wednesday.
Badran said that his Movement seeks the broadest possible national representation in the Legislative Council, one that believes in shared decision-making, rejects coexistence with the occupation, and works for the Palestinian people’s aspirations.
He stressed that the elections offer an opportunity to transform the political landscape and end the monopoly on national decision-making.
Badran affirmed the right of Palestinians to choose their leadership and political platform through elections for the Legislative and National Councils, emphasizing that the ballot box is the best path to reorganize the Palestinian house.
The Hamas official also said that Hamas is committed to ensuring the success of the elections and protecting Palestinians’ access to the ballot box, adding that the Movement will work to overcome any obstacles threatening the process.
