NABLUS, (Palestine Foundation Information Center), Palestinian citizens from the town of Beita in Nablus managed last night to ward off a large-scale attack by extremist Jewish settlers on homes in the Jabel Bir Qawza area.
Local sources reported that violent clashes erupted after settlers attacked homes and fired live ammunition heavily in the Jabel Bir Qawza area.
Dozens of local youths gathered, setting tires ablaze and throwing stones at the settlers while chanting takbeers (Allahu Akbar).
Beita residents forced the settlers to flee the area and call for help from Israeli forces, who stormed the town and fired flares and tear gas canisters towards homes.
Israeli forces also occupied the rooftop of one house in Jabel Bir Qawza following the settler attack.
