DOHA, (Palestine Foundation Information Center), Hamas Political Bureau member and negotiation delegation member Hossam Badran said that meetings between Palestinian factions in Cairo are taking place in a positive and constructive atmosphere, noting that there is broad agreement on a unified national position regarding the roadmap proposed for implementing the second phase of US President Donald Trump’s plan.
In a press statement on Thursday, Badran said Palestinian factions are continuing discussions aimed at developing a unified stance that serves Palestinian national interests and responds to ongoing political developments.
He added that Hamas is also holding talks with mediators in a positive and responsible spirit as part of efforts to ensure the success of the current round of negotiations, protect the Palestinian people, and counter Israeli plans.
Badran said the ongoing discussions have achieved meaningful progress that can be built upon in the coming period, stressing the importance of translating that progress into practical outcomes that advance the Palestinian cause.
He also called for increased pressure on Israel to halt violations and attacks in Gaza and to fully comply with its commitments and obligations under previously agreed arrangements.
