GAZA, (The Palestine Information Centre)The Israeli occupation army intensified last night and at dawn Wednesday its barbaric attacks on the embattled Gaza Strip and bombed entire neighborhoods, killing and injuring dozens of civilians.
The interior ministry in Gaza said at dawn that the Qizan an-Najjar area in Khan Yunis came under heavy bombardment from Israeli warplanes, which targeted and destroyed homes and roads, adding that scores of civilians were either killed or injured in the airstrikes.
Israeli military aircraft also carried out violent and continuous raids on civilian areas in the east of Jabalia, north of Gaza, massacring and wounding many citizens.
Other casualties were reported in different areas of northern Gaza after airstrikes targeted civilian areas.
Last night, the interior ministry said that Israeli warplanes and artillery units embarked on destroying Karama neighborhood in the west of Gaza City with salvos of missiles and projectiles, adding that dozens of citizens were massacred in the attacks.
The intensity of Israeli attacks on the Karama neighborhood and the destruction of its roads prevented ambulances and civil defense vehicles from entering the area, according to local sources.
Video footage and pictures circulated on the internet showed homes and streets in Karama neighborhood being bombarded with different missiles and projectiles, including internationally banned white phosphorus bombs.
At dawn Wednesday, the health ministry in Gaza said that two citizens were killed and two paramedics suffered injuries when an ambulance near a high-rise building (al-Karama Towers) in the neighborhood was bombed as they were trying to provide help for other victims.
Meanwhile, large numbers of citizens are still under the rubber of homes and buildings in different areas of the Gaza Strip.
The civil defense directorate said that its rescue crews are unable to deal with the huge numbers of destroyed homes and buildings in Gaza because they do not have enough heavy machinery and special equipment to search for survivors under the rubble.
Many other citizens, mostly families, were also massacred and injured during Israeli attacks on different areas of Gaza, including in al-Nuseirat refugee camp and as-Saftawi area.
