GAZA, (Palestine Foundation Information Center), Dozens of families, human rights activists, and former detainees took part on Monday in a rally outside the headquarters of the International Committee of the Red Cross in Gaza in support of Palestinian prisoners in Israeli jails.
During the sit‑in, the participants chanted slogans in solidarity with prisoners, and speakers urged the international community to intervene to end their suffering.
Speaking at the event, former detainee Ahmad Abu Ras said that Palestinian prisoners deserve a life of freedom, urging the international community to end its double standards and pressure Israel to release them, just as it pressured Palestinian resistance groups to free Israeli captives.
Abu Ras explained that prisoners suffer health issues, medical neglect, and denial of treatment, and endure starvation, repression, torture, and other forms of collective punishment.
He noted that these Israeli violations have claimed the lives of about 93 prisoners inside Israeli jails since October 7, 2023.
