WEST BANK (Palestine Foundation Information Center) The Israeli occupation forces (IOF) launched a large-scale raid and arrest campaign in Nablus and Qalqilya in the West Bank at dawn Friday.
In Nablus, resistance fighters opened fire at the IOF troops after they violently stormed the eastern part of the city and Balata camp.
Local sources reported that Israeli military vehicles and jeeps raided several neighborhoods in the city amid heavy live fire, which led to the outbreak of clashes.
The IOF arrested two young men in the northern mountain area, the sources added.
The Israeli forces also arrested another young man after raiding his house and severely beating him.
Three more Palestinians were detained in Balata Camp, including an elderly man.
Several local homes were violently stormed and searched during the raid.
In Qalqilya, the IOF stormed a number of local buildings and set up snipers on their roofs.
Local sources added that the occupation forces raided a number of houses and residential buildings in a number of neighborhoods in the city.
