Gaza ceasefire breaches discussed in Hamas–Turkish intelligence meeting

ANKARA, (Palestine Foundation Information Center), A Hamas leadership delegation met Turkish intelligence chief Ibrahim Kalin in Ankara on Monday for in-depth talks on Israel’s escalating attacks on Gaza and Israel’s failure to honor the Sharm el-Sheikh agreement.

The delegation was led by Mohammad Darwish, head of Hamas’s leadership council, and included Khaled Meshaal, head of the Movement abroad, Khalil al-Hayya, Hamas’s Gaza chief, and Zaher Jabarin, Hamas’s West Bank chief.

Hamas said the delegation presented an assessment of the ceasefire agreement, particularly Israel’s daily violations, including killings and airstrikes, which it said were obstructing progress toward talks on the next phases of the deal.

The Movement reiterated that it remained committed to the ceasefire agreement and expressed appreciation for mediation efforts by Türkiye, Egypt and Qatar to end Israel’s assault and its consequences.

Hamas also called for a clear and firm international position against Israel’s attacks on Palestinians and its failure to fully implement the agreement sponsored and guaranteed by US president Donald Trump.

The delegation also briefed Kalin on Israeli violations in occupied Jerusalem and at the Aqsa Mosque, repeated settler raids, rising Judaization efforts, settler attacks in the West Bank, and the torture and abuse of Palestinian prisoners.

Hamas thanked Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan for Türkiye’s efforts to help end the assault on Gaza.
