Gaza ceasefire breaches persist as shelling and demolitions escalate

GAZA, (Palestine Foundation Information Center), Israeli forces continued violating the Gaza ceasefire on Friday for the 246th consecutive day, carrying out airstrikes, heavy gunfire, and large-scale demolition operations amid a worsening humanitarian crisis caused by the ongoing blockade and restrictions.

Local sources reported that Israeli tanks and drones opened intense fire on the Al-Tuffah neighborhood east of Gaza City while artillery shelling repeatedly targeted the area.

Israeli forces also carried out a major demolition operation east of Khan Yunis in southern Gaza.

Elsewhere, Israeli military vehicles fired heavily on areas in Beit Lahia in northern Gaza. Israeli warplanes struck the courtyard of a home belonging to the Sarsour family in Deir al-Balah and targeted nearby farmland east of the city.

An Israeli strike also hit the home of the Al-Khamisi family in Al-Maghazi refugee camp, causing extensive damage. Warplanes later launched a second airstrike on the camp.

Israeli forces have continued to breach the ceasefire agreement through air and artillery attacks on areas sheltering displaced civilians, as well as demolition operations and destruction inside what is known as the “Yellow Line” zone, while maintaining restrictions on the movement of goods, humanitarian aid, and travel.

According to the Palestinian Health Ministry, the number of Palestinians killed since the ceasefire took effect on October 10, 2025, has risen to 982, with 3,111 injured and 783 bodies recovered.

The overall toll since the war began on October 7, 2023, has reached 72,992 Palestinians killed and 173,219 wounded, underscoring the devastating human cost of the ongoing conflict in Gaza.
