GAZA, (Palestine Foundation Information Center), The Hamas Movement has accused the Israeli occupation army of escalating its aggression in Gaza, taking advantage of the silence of the US-led Board of Peace, the weakness of mediators, and the failure of Arab and Islamic countries to take effective action to stop its crimes.
In a statement on Tuesday, Hamas spokesman Hazem Qassem called on all parties to move beyond lip service and take concrete action to curb Israel’s crimes in Gaza.
Spokesman Qassem warned that the continued international silence gives Israel the green light to press ahead with its aggression against Gaza and displace its population.
Israeli military strikes and attacks continue to kill civilians and destroy infrastructure across the Gaza Strip, as documented by organizations like the Palestinian Center for Human Rights.
The Hamas spokesman previously condemned recent remarks by Board of Peace envoy Nickolay Mladenov, who said Gaza remains far from starting reconstruction efforts.
He said that Mladenov’s remarks reflected a clear departure from the Board’s mandate.
