West Bank, (Palestine Foundation Information Center), Hamas leader Mahmoud Mardawi held Israel and Jewish settlers fully responsible for the repeated attacks against Palestinians in the occupied West Bank, following the killing of 51-year-old Palestinian citizen Mashhour Yassin during a Jewish settler attack on the town of Yasuf, east of Salfit.
Mardawi paid tribute to Mashhour Yassin, stressing that his killing constitutes a new crime added to the record of escalating violations against the Palestinian people. He strongly warned against the continued attacks on towns, villages, and Palestinian property.
He pointed out that Jewish settler attacks, accompanied by gunfire and assaults against Palestinians and their property, are being carried out under the protection and support of Israeli forces, reflecting what he described as complementary roles in the ongoing attacks against the Palestinian people.
The Hamas leader stressed the urgent need for unity among Palestinians in the West Bank to confront settler attacks, protect villages, towns, and farmers, and thwart attempts to forcibly alter realities on the ground.
Mardawi called for strengthening popular solidarity and unity in confronting these attacks, affirming that actively confronting them is a national responsibility requiring the protection of civilians, their lands, and their property.
He warned of the continued crimes committed by Jewish settlers in the West Bank and called for intensified resistance efforts to respond to the attacks and defend Palestinians and their land.
It is noteworthy that Palestinian citizen Mashhour Yassin was wounded on Thursday evening during a Jewish settler attack on the town of Yasuf, east of Salfit in the occupied West Bank, and later succumbed to his wounds.
Director of Salfit Government Hospital Mohammad al-Ramahi confirmed that Mashhour Yassin died from critical injuries sustained during the Jewish settlers’ attack on the town.
Earlier, settlers from the Havat Anton settlement attacked the al-Nasbah area east of Yasuf. During the attack, Israeli forces opened indiscriminate fire, seriously wounding two Palestinian citizens. One was shot in the abdomen, while the other was struck by a bullet fragment in his side. The occupation forces also arrested several citizens.
