WEST BANK, (Palestine Foundation Information Center), Senior Hamas official Abdul-Rahman Shadeed has condemned footage shared by far-right Israeli minister Itamar Ben Gvir showing a handcuffed Palestinian detainee forced to paint his cell, calling it a “fascist act” that exposes the occupation’s brutality and moral decay.
In a statement on Thursday, Shadeed described Gvir’s practices against Palestinians as “nothing but a desperate attempt to cover up the political and military failure and bankruptcy facing the entity.”
Shadeed stressed that systematic Israeli violations against male and female prisoners go beyond conventional definitions of terrorism and amount to full-fledged organized crimes.
Shadeed emphasized that Ben Gvir’s boasting about abusing prisoners psychologically and physically would backfire, only reinforcing Palestinian resolve rather than breaking their spirits.
The Hamas official urged the UN, human rights groups, and the Red Cross to urgently intervene against Israeli prison abuses.
