WEST BANK, (Palestine Foundation Information Center), Senior Hamas official Mahmoud Mardawi has denounced the escalating settler attacks against Palestinians and their property in the West Bank and Jerusalem, highlighting recent demolitions in the Jordan Valley and the torching of a factory in northern Ramallah.
“These attacks reflect the scale of organized terrorism carried out by unruly settler militias under the protection of the Israeli occupation government,” Mardawi said in a statement on Monday.
Mardawi said that settler crimes would fail to achieve their goal of displacing Palestinians from their land through killing, arson, and intimidation.
Mardawi said the Israeli occupation bears full responsibility for the consequences of “this dangerous escalation,” urging the international community to break its silence and move beyond weak responses that embolden Israel and its settlers to persist in their crimes.
Mardawi urged Palestinians in Palestinian towns and villages to stand firm, establish community defense measures against settler attacks, and step up resistance against Israeli forces.
