OCCUPIED JERUSALEM, (Palestine Foundation Information Center), Hamas political bureau member and head of the Movement’s Jerusalem affairs office Haroun Nasser Al-Din said Israel’s escalating assault on towns and refugee camps in occupied Jerusalem, including its ongoing raid on Qalandia refugee camp for the second consecutive day, will not break the will of Jerusalemites or their attachment to their land and holy sites.
“What occupied Jerusalem and the rest of the West Bank are facing, including mass arrests, abuse, vandalism, demolitions, the conversion of homes into military barracks and organized terrorism by settler militias, is a practical implementation of the occupation’s fascist criminal plans aimed at annexation and imposing a new Judaization reality,” Nasser Al-Din said on Thursday.
The Hamas official stressed that the escalating crimes of Israel and its settlers would only strengthen Palestinians’ steadfastness, confrontation and commitment to resistance, as well as their determination to protect Jerusalem and the Al-Aqsa Mosque.
Nasser Al-Din called on Palestinians to close ranks, confront attacks by Israeli forces and settlers, and support the people of occupied Jerusalem in strengthening their resilience in the face of the escalating Israeli assault.
Israeli occupation forces continued their military assault on Qalandia refugee camp and the town of Kafr Aqab, north of Jerusalem, for the second consecutive day, amid a wide-scale raid campaign and the deployment of additional military reinforcements to the camp.
