GAZA, (Palestine Foundation Information Center), The Hamas Movement has condemned a Tuesday morning the operation by the Israeli occupation army in Gaza City’s Katiba area as a “grave crime” and a “serious ceasefire violation,” accusing it of showing deliberate disregard for civilian lives.
“The operation was carried out in a densely populated area filled with displaced families and was accompanied by heavy gunfire and airstrikes to provide cover for the infiltrating forces and secure their withdrawal. It resulted in the killing and injury of several civilians,” Hamas said in a statement on Tuesday.
Hamas accused Israeli premier Benjamin Netanyahu of showing “defiance and arrogance” towards mediating countries, citing Israeli ceasefire violations, continued strikes on civilians, and the ongoing siege of Gaza as evidence of his contempt for international law and mediation efforts.
Hamas called on the US administration and mediators to take a clear stance against Israel’s crimes against civilians and to act immediately to curb its ceasefire violations in Gaza.
