WEST BANK, (Palestine Foundation Information Center), The Hamas Movement has condemned the Israeli military’s decision to seize approximately 137,500 dunums of farmland located behind the separation wall in the town of Jayyous, north of Qalqilya, describing it as “blatant theft,” a new settlement crime and an extension of Israeli policies aimed at annexation and displacement.
In a statement, Hamas said Israel’s seizure of vast areas of Palestinian-owned land, alongside continued efforts to impose new settlement realities and depopulate the occupied West Bank, would not overcome Palestinians’ steadfastness and attachment to their land and rights.
The Movement warned of the consequences of these policies amid continued international silence, stressing that escalating land seizures and settlement expansion would not grant Israel legitimacy over Palestinian land or break Palestinians’ determination to pursue freedom and liberation.
Hamas called on Palestinians in the occupied West Bank and Jerusalem to intensify resistance and confront Israeli settlement plans by all available means.
It also urged the United Nations and the international community to take concrete action to halt Israeli settlement expansion and land seizures, describing these practices as a flagrant violation of international law and a challenge to international resolutions opposing Israeli settlements.
