EGYPT, (Palestine Foundation Information Center), A high-level Hamas delegation led by political bureau chief Khalil al‑Hayya met today, Sunday, with Egyptian intelligence director Hasan Rashad at the agency’s headquarters, marking the start of an official visit to Cairo.
During the meeting, the Hamas leadership briefed the Egyptian spy chief on the situation in Gaza and the West Bank, highlighting Israeli military violations and settler violence against Palestinians.
Al-Hayya talked about Israel’s disregard for the Sharm el‑Sheikh agreement and US president Donald Trump’s plan, warning that its refusal to accept the recent roadmap directly undermines steps to cement understandings and prevent further escalation.
The delegation also detailed conditions across the occupied Palestinian territories and inside Israeli prisons, warning that Israel’s “destructive policies” require urgent regional and international intervention.
Senior Hamas officials joined al‑Hayya in Cairo talks, including Mohamed Darwish, Khaled Mishaal, Zaher Jabbarin, Basem Naim, and Ghazi Hamad.
