RAMALLAH, (Palestine Foundation Information Center), Hamas official Mahmoud Mardawi praised residents of Deir Abu Mashal, northwest of Ramallah, for confronting an attempt by Israeli settlers to establish a new settlement outpost on the village’s land, which sparked clashes with Israeli occupation forces (IOF) and settler militias.
Mardawi said on Wednesday that Palestinian steadfastness and the courage of young people on the ground in confronting Israel’s settlement plans are key to thwarting efforts to empty the West Bank and liquidate the Palestinian cause.
He said Palestinians and their resistance would not abandon the path of confrontation in the face of accelerating Judaization and settlement projects across the occupied West Bank.
Mardawi added that Palestinians would not allow Israel to continue its attacks and settler rampages, regardless of the cost.
He called on Palestinians in the West Bank to show greater defiance and steadfastness, continue confronting the IOF and settlers across all provinces, and activate all forms of popular action to defend their land and people.
Earlier on the day, residents of Deir Abu Mashal confronted settlers’ attempt to set up a settlement outpost, leading to clashes in the village.
