Hamas: Tawjihi success reflects triumph of education over genocide

GAZA, (Palestine Foundation Information Center), The Islamic Resistance Movement, Hamas, congratulated high school students in Palestine on the occasion of announcing the Tawjihi examination results, emphasizing that their success, especially in the Gaza Strip, embodies the victory of the Palestinian people’s will over war, destruction, and attempts to break their will.

The head of the Movement’s political bureau, Khalil al-Hayya, confirmed that students are facing a great challenge in the field of knowledge, diligence, and self-building, considering that knowledge forms a basic pillar in building an educated Palestinian society capable of confronting occupation policies aimed at destroying its means of survival and imposing ignorance on Palestinian generations.

Al-Hayya added that students proved, despite killing, destruction, and deprivation, that the will to live and build is stronger than the tools of killing and destruction, describing what was achieved as a double success carrying special significance, and wishing them further success.

The Movement commended, in a press statement, the achievement made by Gaza Strip students despite the continuation of war, siege, destruction of schools and universities, and depriving hundreds of thousands of students of their right to education.

It considered that announcing high school results from the Gaza Strip this year carries a message that goes beyond the limits of academic success, and confirms Palestinians’ adherence to their right to education and their ability to continue their journey despite bombardment, starvation, and loss.

It explained that students continued their education amidst the loss of homes, schools, and electricity, considering that their insistence on completing their education proves that the will to live, succeed, and build cannot be defeated.

It pointed out that Palestinian students graduate from among the rubble and from the heart of suffering, to confirm their adherence to knowledge and to confronting occupation attempts aimed at destroying the educational system and imposing ignorance.

The Movement concluded by congratulating successful students and their families, wishing them a prosperous future, praying for mercy for students who were martyred during the war, and wishing recovery for the wounded.

The Ministry of Education and Higher Education announced, on Friday morning, the results of high school examinations for the year 2026 for regular students in the West Bank, Gaza Strip, and outside Palestine, during a press conference in which it revealed the names of top students in various branches.

The ministry reported that the number of applicants for examinations reached 89,000 male and female students in the West Bank, Jerusalem, Gaza Strip, and abroad, while the pass rate in the West Bank, Jerusalem, and abroad reached 74%, which is higher than the rates of previous years.
