DOHA, (Palestine Foundation Information Center), Senior Hamas official Basem Naim has said that his Movement is taking Israeli war minister Israel Katz’s assassination threat against the head of its political bureau seriously.
In social media remarks on Sunday, Naim acknowledged that while Hamas views these threats as part of Israeli election propaganda, the Movement does not take them lightly.
“Israel’s far-right political bloc is competing for votes ahead of the elections by spreading death everywhere,” Naim said.
“Are you threatening us with what we pray for day and night, martyrdom? Your efforts will fail,” Naim highlighted, adding that Hamas would remain on its path until it achieves victory and liberation.
Katz threatened on Sunday to assassinate Hamas political bureau chief Khalil al-Hayya while accusing the Turkish president of rolling out a red carpet for Hamas.
He made the threat two days after al-Hayya met Turkish foreign minister Hakan Fidan in Ankara.
