WEST BANK, (Palestine Foundation Information Center), The Hamas Movement has denounced the decision taken by far-right Israeli minister Itamar Ben Gvir to add 11 settlements in the occupied West Bank to the areas eligible for firearms permits.
In a statement released on Thursday, Hamas said Ben Gvir’s decision reflects persistence in sponsoring violence and terrorism and giving settlers free rein to carry out attacks against Palestinians.
“This decision explicitly sanctions extrajudicial killings and forced displacement, providing official cover for more crimes against Palestinian civilians, their land, and property,” Hamas warned.
Hamas stressed that this policy further exposed the collusion between the Israeli government and extremist settler groups in their systematic targeting of the Palestinian population.
Hamas called on Palestinians in the West Bank to join forces and use all forms of resistance to confront Israeli crimes against them.
The Movement appealed to the international community and the UN to address Israel’s violations in the West Bank and take immediate action to stop the arming of settlers and curb their crimes against Palestinians.
