Hamas Warns Israeli Incitement Could Lead to Renewed Attacks on Gaza Hospitals

GAZA, (Palestine Foundation Information Center), The Hamas Movement has warned of the consequences of an Israeli incitement campaign targeting hospitals still operating in the Gaza Strip, saying Israel’s accusations are part of efforts to justify further attacks on medical facilities.

In a statement issued on Thursday, Hamas said Israeli incitement against Gaza’s remaining hospitals, which are operating with severely limited resources, comes after Israeli forces targeted and destroyed numerous hospitals and medical centers across the territory.

The Movement stressed that the campaign represents a continuation of Israel’s genocidal war on Gaza, despite the ceasefire agreement.

Hamas described Israeli allegations that hospitals are being used for military purposes as “outright lies and fabrications,” saying similar claims had previously been used by Israeli authorities during campaigns targeting and destroying civilian infrastructure in Gaza, particularly healthcare facilities.

The Movement added that the incitement comes as Gaza’s remaining hospitals face catastrophic conditions due to repeated attacks, the blockade, and restrictions on the entry of essential medical equipment and supplies.

Hospitals are also struggling with severe overcrowding as large numbers of patients and wounded Palestinians continue to seek treatment.

Hamas reiterated its denial that the Movement or any other Palestinian faction uses hospitals for any purposes other than their intended medical functions.

It called on the World Health Organization (WHO), international journalists, and media organizations to enter the Gaza Strip and urged the formation of United Nations committees to inspect hospitals and independently verify the situation inside these facilities.

The Movement also called on mediators and the US administration, as a sponsor of the ceasefire agreement, to intervene immediately to prevent further Israeli military assault against Gaza’s hospitals.

Hamas further urged the United Nations and the international community to take action to protect medical facilities, lift restrictions imposed on them, rebuild damaged and destroyed healthcare infrastructure, and ensure the entry of essential and life-saving medical supplies.
