Hamas welcomes Arab-Islamic statement condemning Israel’s rejection of roadmap

GAZA, (Palestine Foundation Information Center), The Hamas Movement welcomed a joint statement issued by the foreign ministers of the United Arab Emirates, Qatar, Jordan, Indonesia, Pakistan, Türkiye, Saudi Arabia and Egypt, saying the statement’s clear condemnation of Israel’s rejection of the roadmap for completing the implementation of US President Donald Trump’s plan supports efforts to end the war and achieve security and stability in the region.

In a statement on Monday, Hamas praised the ministers’ call for the full and immediate implementation of the roadmap, as well as the continued active role of the United States, the Peace Council and mediators in ensuring its implementation, preventing the Israeli government from obstructing it or evading its commitments, and moving forward with the requirements of the second phase according to the agreed arrangements and timelines.

The Movement also welcomed the statement’s rejection of Israel’s attempts to deny the Palestinian people’s right to self-determination and to establish an independent, fully sovereign state with Jerusalem as its capital.

Hamas said Israel’s continued occupation, annexation policies, settlement expansion and imposition of facts on the ground undermine prospects for peace, security and stability in the region.

The Movement said the position should be built upon through effective political and diplomatic action and continued pressure to compel the Israeli government to implement what has been agreed upon, and to end the suffering of the Palestinian people, start Gaza’s reconstruction, and enable the Palestinians to exercise their legitimate national rights.

A joint statement issued Sunday by the foreign ministers of the UAE, Qatar, Jordan, Indonesia, Pakistan, Türkiye, Saudi Arabia and Egypt strongly condemned Israel’s rejection of the roadmap for Trump’s plan to end the conflict in Gaza (Security Council Resolution 2803) and its rejection of a Palestinian state, holding Israel fully responsible for obstructing peace efforts.
