BEIRUT, (Palestine Foundation Information Center), Hebrew media reported on Wednesday evening that Lebanon’s Hezbollah fired a massive rocket barrage exceeding 100 rockets toward the Upper Galilee, Western Galilee, and wide areas across northern Israel within just a few minutes.
Israeli reports described the attack as the largest barrage since the start of the current escalation, with sirens sounding continuously in dozens of towns and settlements, reaching as far as Safed and Haifa.
Iron Dome missiles were seen attempting to intercept incoming rockets over the Galilee, while loud explosions were heard across the region.
Israel’s Home Front Command issued strict instructions for residents in the Western Galilee and border communities to remain close to shelters and fortified areas until further notice.
In a statement following the barrage, Hezbollah announced the launch of what it called “Operation Al-Asf Al-Ma’koul.”
In response, the Israeli military carried out intensive airstrikes across Lebanon after the rocket attack.
The heavy barrage comes amid a broader military escalation in southern Lebanon. It follows a series of Israeli airstrikes targeting towns deep inside Lebanon and areas around Beirut in recent hours.
According to Israel’s Channel 11, Israel has warned the Lebanese government that it must take immediate action against Hezbollah or face Israeli strikes on the country’s infrastructure.
