LONDON, (The Palestine Information Centre)Human Rights Watch (HRW) organization has said that the years 2022 and 2023 are the deadliest for Palestinian children in the West Bank in 15 years.
According to a report issued by the organization on Monday, Israel had killed at least 34 Palestinian children in the West Bank until the 22nd of August 2023.
The report investigated four fatal shootings of Palestinian children by Israel between November 2022 and March 2023.
“Unless Israel’s allies, particularly the United States, pressure Israel to change course, more Palestinian children will be killed,” the report warned.
The HRW called on the United Nations Secretary-General to list Israel, in his annual report on grave violations against children in armed conflicts for 2023, as responsible for killing and maiming Palestinian children.
It also called on the prosecutor of the International Criminal Court to expedite his office’s Palestine investigation, including for grave violations committed against children.
The Israeli newspaper Haaretz had said that since December 2021, Israeli soldiers were allowed to shoot at Palestinians who throw stones or Molotov cocktails, HRW said in its report.
