RAMALLAH, (Palestine Foundation Information Center), The Colonization and Wall Resistance Commission has found there are now 592 illegal Israeli settlements and outposts, housing more than 700,000 settlers, across the occupied West Bank and east Jerusalem.
These Jewish settler clusters comprise 192 settlements and 400 outposts, including 231 pastoral outposts, according to the Commission on Saturday.
The Commission said nearly 780,000 Israeli settlers are living in these settlements, about 333,600 in Jerusalem settlements and 446,400 others in the West Bank.
The Commission noted that the Israeli occupation regime controls 42 percent of the West Bank’s total area of approximately 5,660 square kilometers.
It explained that Israel controls 71 percent of Area C, which comprises roughly 60 percent of the occupied Palestinian territory, and maintains dominance over as much as 91 percent of the Jordan Valley.
