IOA Displaces Jerusalem Families After Demolishing Five Homes in Biddu

OCCUPIED JERUSALEM, (Palestine Foundation Information Center), The Israeli occupation authority (IOA) demolished five homes in the town of Biddu, northwest of Jerusalem, on Thursday, displacing more than 20 residents without prior notice.

According to the Jerusalem Governorate, Israeli bulldozers escorted by Israeli police forces raided Biddu town in the morning after leveling swaths of land and uprooting trees near the town of Beit Iksa, northwest of Jerusalem.

Israeli bulldozers subsequently demolished five homes in the town, citing a lack of building permits, as soldiers barred Palestinian families from retrieving their furniture and personal belongings.

During the demolitions, Israeli forces dispersed local residents using tear gas canisters and stun grenades.

The rate at which Palestinian homes and structures are demolished in Occupied Jerusalem has almost doubled since the start of the Israeli genocidal war on Gaza, human rights groups and monitoring organizations say.

The demolitions are ordered by the Israeli municipality, which claims that many Palestinian homes and structures are illegally built without permission.
